Lorry driver saves job by taking a holiday!

At Rugby Court today a lorry driver saved his job by taking an enforced 4 week holiday! Richard Best Solicitor represented a Leicester heavy goods vehicle lorry driver with 9 speeding points on his license. He pleaded guilty to a further speeding case today which could have seen him banned for 6 months under the totting up procedure and the loss of his job! Richard persuaded Magistrates to disqualify him for 28 days (which his employers had agreed to allow him to take as holiday) and not impose any further points so he kept his license! He will now resume his job after his enforced "holiday" from work. He was warned he would still have 9 points on his license when he resumes driving. The moral is get good advice if you have points on your license!
